What is Going on with Toddler Naps?

What is Going on with Toddler Naps?

My daughter turns three in just a month, and holy moly... naps have suddenly become our biggest battle.
She has the worst case of FOMO. If there's even the slightest chance she's missing out on something, she's determined to stay awake for it.
I'll be the first to admit I'm not the mom who runs a super strict schedule. We've always had a loose routine. During the school year we have the most structure to give our babysitter some consistency. Now that it's summer, all bets are off. We're out and about almost every day, which means naps happen whenever (or if ever) they happen.
I know some moms absolutely thrive on schedules, but this is definitely where I fall into the Type B... maybe even Type C... mom category.
The problem is, she still clearly needs a nap. If she skips it, she's exhausted by evening, extra cranky, and everything becomes a little harder for all of us. But even when I lay down with her, half the time she still refuses to sleep.
So now I'm wondering... is this just the end of naps? Do I stop fighting it and move bedtime earlier? Or do I keep trying because she obviously still benefits from one?
Moms of three-year-olds, when did your little one stop napping? Because I could really use the advice.
