I’m a FTM, and lately social media feels like one long checklist of everything I should be doing before the baby arrives. Perfect nurseries, freezer meals for weeks, hospital bags packed months early—it’s a lot. What starts as inspiration quickly turns into pressure, and suddenly I’m wondering if I’m already behind.
Social media turns preparation into performance. It rarely shows the overwhelm, the half-finished to-do lists, or the very real fear of getting it wrong. There’s this unspoken idea that if you don’t do everything, you’re failing before you even begin.
But babies don’t need perfection—they need love, care, and someone who shows up. It’s okay to mute accounts that make you anxious and trust that your version of preparing is enough. If you’re a FTM feeling overwhelmed, you’re not failing—you’re human. And that’s more than enough. 💛
