Quiet Time: How I Make Space for Myself

I used to think “me time” was a luxury. Now, I see it as necessary maintenance — like charging my phone before it dies.

Quiet time looks different these days. It’s not a spa day or a solo vacation (I mean, I wish). Sometimes it’s sipping coffee while the toddler watches Bluey. Sometimes it’s locking the bathroom door for five whole minutes and scrolling in peace. Other times, it’s waking up 15 minutes before everyone else just to breathe and not be needed.

I’ve learned that making space for myself doesn’t make me a selfish mom. It makes me a more grounded one. When I carve out even the tiniest sliver of stillness, I show up better for everyone — including me.

So no, quiet time isn’t optional anymore. It’s sacred. And I’m protecting it like my last piece of chocolate.
